ProtoStar Inc. complies with the Personal Information Protection Act. and strives to handle and protect personal information appropriately in accordance with the following privacy policy.

Article 1 Definition of personal information

In this privacy policy, personal information shall mean personal information defined by Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Information Protection Law.

Article 2 Purpose of use of Personal Information

We will use your personal information for the following purposes. The provision of your personal information is voluntary. Please note that if you do not provide your personal information, you may not be able to use some or all of the services.

Article 3 Change in Purpose of Use of Personal Information

We will not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use without the consent of the customer, except as permitted by the Personal Information Protection Law and other laws and regulations. However, this does not apply in the following cases

  • When required by law
  • When it is necessary to protect the life, body or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the customer.
  • When it is especially necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children and it is difficult to obtain the customer's consent
  • When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by either a national agency or local government to execute affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the customer's consent may impede the execution of such affairs.

Article 5 Appropriate acquisition of personal information

We will properly acquire personal information and will not acquire it by deception or other improper means.

Article 6 Security management of personal information

We will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over our employees to ensure that personal information is managed safely against risks such as loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage of personal information. In addition, when we outsource all or part of the handling of personal information, we will provide necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure that the outsourced company manages the personal information safely.

Article 7 Provisions to third parties

We will not provide personal information to a third party without the prior consent of the customer, except when disclosure is permitted based on the Personal Information Protection Law and other laws and regulations. However, the following cases do not correspond to the provision to the third party specified above.

  • When the person himself / herself reveals personal information to a third party using the function of our service or another means
  • With the consent of the person
  • When we outsource all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use
  • Cases in which personal information is provided as a result of the succession of business due to merger or other reasons

Article 8 Consignment of handling of personal information

We will outsource a part of the handling of the personal information we acquire to an external contractor within the scope of achieving the purpose of use. The Company will ensure the necessary security of personal information by selecting and evaluating the outsourcee from the perspective of personal information protection and concluding a non-disclosure agreement with the outsourcee.

Article 9 Notification or disclosure of the purpose of use of personal information

When a customer requests notification or disclosure of the purpose of use of personal information in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Law, we will notify the customer of the purpose of use or disclose the personal information after confirming that the request is made by the customer himself/herself (If such personal information does not exist, we will notify the customer to that effect. In such cases, the contact person for inquiries is the Personal Information Protection Manager listed below.) However, this does not apply to cases in which we are not obligated to notify or disclose the purpose of use of personal information under the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws and regulations. Please note that a fee (1,000 yen per case) will be charged for notification and disclosure of the purpose of use of personal information.

Article 10 Correction of personal information, etc.

 If a customer requests correction, addition, or deletion of his/her personal information (hereinafter referred to as "Correction, etc."), we will, after confirming that the request is made by the customer himself/herself, conduct the necessary investigation to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use, and based on the results, correct the content of the personal information and notify the customer to that effect (if we decide not to make a Correction, etc., we will notify the customer to that effect). In such cases, the contact person for inquiries is listed below. However, this does not apply to cases in which we are not obligated to make such corrections, etc. under the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws and regulations.

Article 11 Suspension of use of personal information, etc.

If we are requested by a customer to stop using or delete (hereinafter referred to as "stop using, etc.") his/her personal information in accordance with the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information on the grounds that it is handled beyond the scope of the purpose of use publicly announced in advance or that it was obtained through deception or other wrongful means, or if we are requested to stop providing his/her personal information in accordance with the provisions of the Act on the grounds that it is provided to a third party without his/her consent, we will stop providing such information. (2) In the event of a request for suspension of use or deletion of personal information (hereinafter referred to as "suspension of use, etc.") in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection Law on the grounds that the personal information has been provided to a third party without the consent of the customer or on the grounds that the personal information has been obtained through deception or other wrongful means If it is found that there is a reason for the request, we will confirm that the request is made by the customer himself/herself, suspend the use or provision of the personal information, and notify the customer to that effect. In such cases, the contact person for inquiries is the Personal Information Protection Manager listed below. However, this does not apply to cases in which we are not obligated to suspend the use or provision of personal information under the Personal Information Protection Law or other laws and regulations.

Article 12 Acquisition of personal information by a method that the person cannot easily recognize

In order to provide the best service to our customers, this website may use a mechanism called "cookies" to obtain visit history information. Cookies are a technology routinely used on the Internet to store site browsing information and identify browsers by assigning arbitrary numbers to them, and do not contain personal information such as names.
